Associate, Graham Anderson was educated in Glasgow and moved to Oban to join R A Clement Associates in 1978. He has a varied portfolio of clients and his professional interests include nurturing small companies. He is in charge of our Mull Team.
In his spare time Graham is a (very, very) competitive yachtsman, taking part in the many sailing events organised on the west coast.

Jonathan D Anglesea
Jonathan has been computing since 1977. He joined R A Clement Associates in 2000 after being the director of a local computer company for over fifteen years. During much of that time Jonathan was a consultant and supplier to R A Clement Associates. Jonathan's career has included statistical programming for the NHS, salmon farming and management consultancy so he knows quite a lot about running a business too. He is not just a "techie".
In 2006 Jonathan qualified as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
In his "down time" Jonathan enjoys tinkering with his classic boat, every sort of fishing and buying stuff on eBay.

Gaynor Anglesea - General Operations Manager
Gaynor has been with R A Clements since 2003, doing mainly database administration and PR work. Gaynor has an honours degree in Psychology and ran her own IT business for many years. She eventually decided she disliked computers, which never did as they were told and came to work for R A Clement Associates where everyone does as they are told.
When not at work, Gaynor enjoys patchwork quilting and rock concerts.
Jack relocated to the West Coast with his family in 2002 having moved from Derby. In 2012 he graduated from Stirling University with a BAcc and joined R A Clement Associates in the following July. Jack has qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA) and is based in our Oban office where he works 9.00am to 5.00pm on weekdays.

Fiona Brydon - Receptionist & administrator
Fiona Brydon – Fiona joined R A Clements in 2001 after a varied and interesting career working as a Department Manager for John Lewis She then travelled the world for a couple of years, after which she moved to Oban and worked for various local businesses. Fiona is receptionist and administrator in our Oban office.
Out of working hours Fiona looks after her family and is an active and visible member of the Spotlight Musical Theatre Group.
Ann E Burton
Ann has a degree in psychology and qualified as a chartered accountant in Birmingham with one of the major firms. After that she moved to Plymouth and specialised in the tax affairs and accounts of a few, high net worth individuals. At that time she was also the treasurer of the largest independent charity in South Devon.
Ann moved to the West Coast of Scotland in 1987 where she worked in a general accountancy practice in Fort William for 15 years. Ann joined R A Clement Associates in 2002.
She works in our Fort William office every Friday and at other times by prior arrangement. Ann does not work Mondays but, the rest of the time she can be found working diligently in the Oban office. Her thirty plus years of accountancy on the west coast has given her considerable experience of what local firms need from their accountants (and what they do not need).
When not working, Ann's hobbies are reading, walking and cooking and she once made sandwiches for the punk rock band "The Stranglers". Yes, she really did!

Liam is another local lad who graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2006 with a BA in accountancy. He then returned to Oban to study for his ACCA accountancy qualification. He joined R A Clement Associates in August 2010, and completed his ACCA training became a fully qualified accountant. In October 2017 Liam became a partner in the firm.

Helen Clark - Office Manager
Helen Clark - Helen started at R A Clements way back in 1982 and is now the Oban office manager. She is based in our Argyll Square office and does her best to keep us in order and all systems running smoothly.
Before coming to work here, Helen did a course in Business Studies at college in Glasgow and worked in a psychiatric hospital for two years. (Make up your own jokes about our staff here!)
Karen started off in the VAT Department in Argyll Square in April 2012 but moved to payroll during a staff reorganisation. She is a versatile and valuable member of staff who works in the Abacus office until 3.15pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
John, or "JJ" as he prefers to be known, works mornings in the Argyll Square office in Oban and in Abacus running payrolls in the afternoon - another very versatile member of staff. He works 5 days a week and enjoys it immensely!
Duncan, our managing partner, has worked at R A Clement Associates since 1986 when he started as a trainee. He qualified with the firm in 2000 and became a partner in 2003. Duncan specialises in advising owner managed businesses and has experience in many sectors including hotel and leisure, the construction industry, development companies, tourism based industries and fish farming.
"I am very happy to be described as a general practitioner. I work with our small to medium sized clients who rely on my across the board experience in all areas of taxation, accounting and business advice."
In recent years he has been responsible for the remarkable expansion of the Fort William office which he now runs. Duncan is generally there on Tuesdays and Thursdays or at other times by prior arrangement. He can be found in our Oban office on Monday, Wednesday and Friday - and sometimes on Saturday and Sunday too.

Gavin runs our Bookkeeping & VAT department. He joined R A Clement Associates straight from school at the age of 17 in 1995. This has given him a vast experience of bookkeeping and VAT issues. He uses Sage Accounts and CashFlow Manager on a daily basis and can advise you on all aspects of VAT. (And just in case you were wondering he can also do bookkeeping and VAT manually, in ledgers!)

Linda joined R A Clements in 1999 and qualified as ACCA in December 2001 becoming a Fellow member in December 2006. Linda also has a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from RGIT in Aberdeen. She lives in Ballachulish and is treasurer of the Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team. Linda also an active team member of Glencoe MRT so, if you get stuck up a hill there, she might well come and rescue you! She is also an active member of Lochaber Athletics Club - The woman never stands still!
Linda works in the Fort William office on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday or at other times by prior arrangement. On Tuesday and Friday she can be found in our Argyll Square office in Oban or on client sites.
Linda is involved in a wide range of work from audit to taxation and is a member of our Charity & Audit Team. She is especially interested in working with charities and how OSCR (Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator) impacts on the way charities operate. Linda has also worked with a wide range of businesses through each stage of their development, from the early days, to planning for succession. She is, in fact, a very useful, approachable member of staff.

Helen joined R A Clement Associates in 1992 as a trainee chartered accountant after graduating in mathematics from the University of St Andrews. During her time with this firm, Helen qualified as a chartered accountant.
She is now head of the Limited Company Team at R A Clement Associates, looking after limited company statutory requirements and on-line company registration. She is also involved in business accounting work and taxation for companies and larger partnerships. Despite knowing all the difficult stuff, she is very friendly and approachable.
Helen works in our High Street office in Oban every weekday from 9.00 am to 3.30 pm.
Helen enjoys a busy family life and plays lead violin in the Oban Bach orchestra. She is also the conductor of the Oban and Lorn Strathspey and Reel Society.

Tomasz Kardasz BSc.
Tomasz Kardasz became a full time member of our ICT Team in August 2012. Prior to this he had been working for us on a part time basis as time allowed. Tomasz has a BSc in Network Administration from the University of Pawel Wlodkowic in Plock, Poland and lots of experience with computer systems. He is a valued member of the ICT Team.
Tomask is married with 2 children and enjoys playing football and doing DIY - which is probably a good thing when you have 2 children.

Brona graduated with a degree in medicine from Trinity College, Dublin in 2006. She then worked as a doctor for 2 years. She gave up medicine when her longing to be an accountant became too strong to resist. First Brona joined RBC Dexia Investor Services in Dublin and then she moved to Lismore with her husband and joined R A Clement Associates in 2008 as a trainee accountant. Borna has now finished her training and is a fully fledged Accountant. She spends most of her spare time on Lismore looking after her children, upholstering, sewing, or helping on the farm.

Laura started working for R A Clement Associates as office assistant in 2008. She left to have her second baby and started back in our Abacus office as part time receptionist, working 5 days a week from 9.30 to 1pm.
She has a busy home life looking after her 2 children but in her spare time she works on her Dad's farm and enjoys spending time with the rest of her family.
Angus is a local lad who joined R A Clement Associates in September 2005 as an accounts trainee. Whilst working here he studied for his ACCA qualification and has now successfully passed all his exams becoming a fully qualified accountant. He attended Oban High School and Lews Castle College on the Isle of Lewis where he obtained an HNC in Business Studies through distance learning. Gus is part of our Charity & Audit Team and was made a partner in October 2017. His hobbies are cycling, football and socialising ... and he wants a motorbike!

Niall is also from Oban where he attended Oban High School. He joined R A Clement Associates in September 2002 and is now studying for an ACCA qualification. Originally from North Ayrshire, Colin studied for a degree in accountancy at what is now Caledonian University. He then qualified whilst with a firm in Glasgow before moving to R A Clement Associates in 1985. Colin is the team leader for our Medical and Dental Accounts Team.
In his spare time Colin plays indoor football and tennis. His dislike of inclement weather prompted him to start the local, over 35s, indoor football league which he still runs. He is also treasurer for the local tennis and squash clubs.

Nicola is based in our Argyll Square office in Oban and has an HND in Administration and IT. She splits her time between typing and the Bookkeeping and VAT team.
In her spare time she is a very accomplished Highland Dancer and really quite famous after dancing at the Vatersay Boys concerts in Edinburgh and Glasgow. She also runs a dance class one evening a week.
Fiona graduated with a degree in Maths and Statistics from Glasgow University and then qualified as an accountant whilst still living in Glasgow. She joined R A Clement Associates in 1991 and became a partner in 1999. Fiona is responsible for our in-house HR compliance and is in charge of our Charity and Audit team. When she can find time between work and family, Fiona likes to get out on the golf course.

Bobby has worked at R A Clement Associates since 1980. He has a vast experience of west coast businesses and is very approachable. If you are a long term client, Bobby has probably done your accounts at least once this century (or possibly last century).

Andrew joined R A Clement Associates in 2007 having relocated from Devon. He qualified with ACCA in 2006 and also holds a Higher National Diploma in Professional Accounting. Before following his father's footsteps and becoming a Chartered Accountant, Andrew spent ten years working in the equine and agriculture industries.
Although based mainly in our Oban office, Andrew is a valuable member of our Mull Team so you can meet him in our Tobermory office by prior arrangement. He is also happy to visit you at your business location on Mull so long as he gets back to Craignure in time for his ferry. This means that he will not overstay his welcome and he will be very time-efficient!
Andrew is also deputy mechanic with Oban's voluntary RNLI Lifeboat Crew.
When not working or eating Cal-Mac breakfasts, Andrew enjoys sailing and kayaking.

Melanie Morrice, born and bred in Fort William, graduated in 1998 from Edinburgh with a BA in Accounting. That same year she went to work for J C Harvey, an accountancy firm in Fort William. Other than a few years break in Industry Melanie was with him until he retired and R A Clement Associates took over the business.
Melanie works in the Fort William office 3 varied days each week around her husband’s shift pattern and has now qualified as an ACCA.
Melanie has 2 daughters so working, studying and keeping up with her kids’ social life (which she says is far better than hers!) leaves her very little time for her hobbies of keeping fit and socialising. Well, to be honest, she does manage a bit of the socialising … it’s just the exercise that has been sacrificed.
Laura Munro joined us in June 2014 as a trainee accountant studying for her ACCA qualification. She already has an honours degree in Accountancy and Business Studies from Stirling University and has now obtained her accountancy qualification too.
In addition to her studies, Laura is also a qualified Highland Dancing Teacher and has danced on stage in Glasgow and Edinburgh at the Vatersay Boys concerts, so she is just as famous as Nicola McFadyen, who also works here. What a talented bunch we are!
Andy joined R A Clement Associates in 2001 from a senior financial management role in the NHS. Since his return to general practice, Andy has advised a wide range of clients on accountancy, tax planning and IT matters.

Sandra has been processing payrolls for us since January 1990 and has worked her way up to the position of manager of the payroll team.
When not cracking the whip at Abacus, Sandra enjoys quilting and card making. I happen to know that she is a dab hand at baking too.

Shona F Wardrop
Shona came to work for R A Clement Associates in 2002 from Johnston Carmichael in Inverness where she was senior client relationship manager. Here at R A Clement Shona covers audit, accountancy and tax for a wide range of clients. She is the leader of our Charity and Audit Team where she has specific responsibility for charities and other not-for-profit organisations.
Shona has a degree in Arabic Studies from St Andrews University and a doctorate in the same subject from Edinburgh University. When time allows, Shona enjoys refurbishing their 54ft Danish built ex trawler, watching American football and reading science fiction novels, but apart from all that she is quite normal.
