Payroll Bureau

|
Payroll Department (Abacus Services) | | R A Clement Associates has for many years assisted with payroll matters, in many instances taking on the task of running the payroll for clients. A specialised payroll bureau was established in 1990 headed by Ken Oxland. | | | The payroll bureau was originally set up as an independent firm, trading as Abacus Services. It is now part of R A Clement Associates but is still located on the ground floor at 8 High Street, Oban PA34 4BG. |
Four staff are employed by Abacus to provide the support required by a diverse and demanding clientele. Abacus personnel are from left: Fiona Stewart, Eileen Sinclair, Sandra Shedden and Mary MacPhail. Abacus Services has expanded steadily to the point where it now runs weekly, monthly and four-weekly payrolls for over 200 businesses throughout Scotland. All aspects of payroll management are covered, from time recording and payslip printing, payroll summary reporting and analysis. The range of services is summarised below: - Administration of PAYE, national insurance, statutory sick pay, statutory maternity pay, holiday pay and payments to sub-contractors.
- Administration of incentive schemes, bonuses, and exgratia and termination payments
- Administration of pension schemes
- Printing and supply of customised payslips including security payslips
- Authorisation of payments via BACS, cheque and on-line transfer
- Completion of statutory forms, including P45 and P60
- Full summary reporting and analysis of staff costs by department or location
Abacus staff have developed their computerised system to fulfil all the needs of its payroll clients in a highly cost-effective manner. Using this system, the time taken to process the most complex payroll is minimised and clients can request changes to payslips at any time prior to the payroll being run. This facility is especially useful to clients employing casual staff, as is often the case in many tourism-centred businesses.
