Introduction
R A Clement Associates Chartered Accountants has been trading in Oban for over fifty years. Formed as the branch of the Glasgow firm of R A Clement & Co, the firm became independent in the early 1980s when David Mudie, until recently our senior partner, became a sole practitioner and formed R A Clement Associates. Since that time the company has enjoyed steady and continuous growth. The expansion continues as more and more clients become aware of the unique blend of local service and wide-ranging expertise on offer.
R A Clement Associates is now the largest accountancy practice in the west highlands of Scotland, and has over forty employees, including five partners, a complement of qualified accountants and trainees, clerical and administrative staff. The practice serves the whole of Argyll, Lochaber and Mull from offices in Oban, Fort William, Lochgilphead and Tobermory. Several thousand personal and commercial clients are provided with a full range of accountancy services including taxation advice, accounts preparation, book-keeping, VAT and payroll management. The administrative centre in Oban occupies two offices on Argyll Square and the High Street, linked by a high-speed telephone and data connection, whilst the other locations each have a single office.
